Gmail Go app is now available for download via Google Play

Here's What It Offers-

HIGHLIGHTS-

  • Gmail Go app is now available for download via Google Play
  • The APK file size of the new app is 9.51MB
  • The app has most of the basic features of the regular Gmail app

Setting up the stage for Android Oreo (Go Edition), Google has now released the Gmail Go app. The new app, which is compatible with devices running Android 8.1 Oreo and later, is available for download on Google Play store. It comes weeks after the release other Go edition apps, including Files Go, Gboard Go, Google Go, Maps Go, and YouTube Go. The app supports most of the basic features of Gmail as well as offers you multiple account support to let you set up both Gmail and non-Gmail addresses, such as Outlook.com, Yahoo Mail, or other IMAP/POP email accounts, instantly.

The APK file size of the Gmail Go app is significantly smaller than the regular Gmail app; it's 9.51MB versus 20.66MB. This makes the app lighter when installed, consuming around 25MB on compatible devices - contrary to the 47MB space consumed by its regular version. Despite its lightweight build, the Gmail Go app provides you with an advanced inbox that categorises social and promotional emails under different tabs to help you focus on important messages first.

The app also supports the convenient conversation view that groups emails for all IMAP, POP3, and Exchange accounts under one roof. Similarly, Google has given support for swipe actions and sender images in the conversation list. The interface of the new app is also quite identical to the original Gmail for Android, though you may notice the change in the user profile section that sits on top of the title bar and displays your profile photo and background image on the regular Gmail app.

Why Google Is Bullish About Android Oreo (Go Edition)-

In order to make the experience safer for end users, the Gmail Go app automatically blocks spam messages using Google's internal data sets and algorithms. You are also provided with the option to report any of the new emails as spam or mark it as important to get it right in the Primary tab. Further, you can add a label to your emails to categorise them as per your requirements. The app also allows you to manage how frequent you'd like to receive notifications by disabling alerts for social or promotional messages.

The overall experience of the Gmail Go app is quite similar to what you can get from the regular Gmail app. However, we did notice some lag when tested the app on an Android 8.1-running Pixel 2 XL. This may be due to some bugs that are likely to be fixed ahead of the release of Android Go devices. Of course, the prime purpose of the Gmail Go app is to provide Gmail access amidst using less RAM and data.

Meanwhile, you can visit Google Play to download and test the Gmail Go app on your Android 8.1 device. Its latest APK file is also available for download through APK Mirror.

Jiophone emerges leader in Indian feature phone market.

Reliance JioPhone scaled a new high in the fourth quarter on 2017, emerging as the market leader in the feature phone segment with 27 percent share, followed by Samsung at 14 percent share, a new report said on Monday. The feature phone market witnessed a 36 percent sequential growth in the 4Q and Year-on-Year (YoY) growth of 62 percent in the country.

"JioPhone was a major growth driver for the 4Q 2017. Its shipments grew more than five-fold. This new trend led to a surge in market share of feature phones. With locally-manufactured JioPhones hitting the market in coming quarters, the vendor is expected to better its performance," Narinder Kumar, an analyst at CMR-Industry Intelligence Group (IIG), said in a statement.
With 30 million units shipped, the smartphone market recorded a 19 per cent sequential decline in 4Q. in smartphones, Xiaomi emerged as the market leader with 25 per cent market share, followed by Samsung with 23 per cent market share. "We are expecting to witness a revival in the online strategy of Samsung along with an enhanced focus on enterprise business in 2018," Kumar said.

According to CMR's "India Monthly Mobile Handset Market Review" report, mobile handset vendors shipped 88 million mobile handset units in the fourth quarter of 2017. For the entire year, mobile handset vendors shipped around 287 million mobile handset units in India. Samsung remained the overall leader for 2017 with 21 per cent market share, followed by iTel and Xiaomi with 9 per cent market share each.

"Traditionally, December is a lean period. However, the 4Q 2017 bucked this trend. From the throes of demonetization at the beginning of 2017, the India mobile handset market touched a new historic high in 4Q 2017," said Prabhu Ram, Head-IIG-CMR.

Major Chinese brands saw exceedingly healthy year-on-year growth. On the other hand, some pioneering brands saw their growth decline (YoY). The year saw alarm bells ringing for handset brands including HTC, Asus, Intex and Gionee. In the 4Q 2017, overall 4G handset market grew by 19 per cent. The 4G smartphones declined by 17 per cent while 4G feature phones grew a massive 546 per cent. "2G feature phones grew by 5 per cent while 3G smartphones declined by 71 per cent on a small base," the report added.

STAY MOTIVATED FOR A YOUTUBER

HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED FOR A YOUTUBER..
MOTIVATIONAL THOUGHT FOR YOUTUBERS..READ BELOW..

I HAVE SOME THING FOR AN YOUTUBERS.
I HAVE SOME THING FOR AN YOUTUBERS TO STAY MOTIVATED.
I HAVE SOME THING FOR AN YOUTUBERS FOR MAKING GOOD VIDEO.
I HAVE SOME THING FOR AN YOUTUBERS TO EDITING FAST..AND MANY MORE..
I HAVE SOME THING FOR AN YOUTUBERS.

THIS IS ONLY FOR YOUTUBERS..

In any creative endeavour, there will be days where you feel more motivated to Work than others. Being a YouTuber is no exception. So how can we stay motivated as YouTubers to keep making videos and producing content?Final Cut Pro X Storyline

1. REMEMBER WHY YOU GOT STARTED

Sometimes when we're working on something every day, it's easy to lose sight of the bigger picture. We get so caught up in the small details of our channel that we forget why we started making videos in the first place.
Ask yourself: why did I start my YouTube channel?
Chances are, you wanted to share something with others.
Maybe it was a meaningful message, maybe it was a new idea, or maybe it was just a funny voice you were practicing for your comedy routine. We all have different stories and different motivations for YouTube. Whatever it is for you, if you can find that initial passion you can motivate your future actions.
When I started my YouTube channel, The New Travel, my mission was simple. I wanted to share stories from around the world, and better connect with other travellers. Whenever I start to lose motivation for my vlog, I remind myself of this. It helps me stay motivated when the work process gets difficult.
Whatever the reason you joined YouTube, try to use it to fuel you. Make it about something larger than yourself, and the motivation will continue to flow.

2. TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR EARLIEST VIDEOS

Taking a step back in time and analyzing your earliest videos can be cringe-worthy.
Why does the audio sound so bad? Why do I have so many awkward pauses? And how did I ever think that a fish eye lens was a good idea?
But if you can handle it, allow yourself to be shocked and pleasantly surprised by just how much your videos have improved.
When I look back at my first attempt at a vlog, I wish I knew what I know about vlogging now!

Nomads in Norway, Trolltunga video
I flew all the way to Norway, and that's the best title I could make? Seriously?
(Watch my first attempt at a vlog, Nomads in Norway.)

But that's okay: don't dwell in the past, just use it to motivate your future videos.
While watching these old videos, something strange might happen: you'll start thinking of how the new you would edit the videos differently.
That's a good sign. That's when you notice just how much you have grown as a YouTuber. Just think how good the future you will be if you keep this up!

3.TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR FAVOURITE YOUTUBER'S EARLIEST VIDEOS

You know that larger-than-life YouTuber you follow? The one who seems to have been born with a vlogging camera in his / her hands? Well as it turns out, he / she started off with a learning curve, just like the rest of us.
Go into their videos and sort by earliest and find out the difference for yourself.

Casey Neistat age 17 gif
Casey Neistat is closing in on 4 million subscribers. But he often references when he was young, broke, and new to vlogging. (gif source: gfycat.com)

It's a great source of motivation to know that these YouTube stars didn't just appear out of no where with inordinate amounts of talent. As it turns out, they worked incredibly hard to get to where they are. And you can too! All you have to do is "Just Keep Uploading".

4. JOIN AN ONLINE COMMUNITY FOR YOUTUBERS

If you're looking for a forum to chat with other YouTubers and share tips, there is www.yttalk.com.
If you're looking to find new audiences for your YouTube videos, there are some great facebook groups out there. For example, I am an admin in a private Facebook group called YouTube For Travel Vloggers.
YouTube for travel vloggers
Does that mean you should all rush out to join this group, no matter what sort of videos you make? Not at all! (Though if you do have your own travel vlog, we'll be glad to let you in!)
The secret though is to find people making similar videos as you are. This way you can really learn the craft and grow together as a community. Having a community allows you to learn from each other, ask questions, and stay motivated to produce more content.
Maybe you are a video game vlogger or you like creating make-up tutorials. It's quite possible that none of your friends in real life are interested in making the same videos that you are. But online, you can connect yourself with a community for any sort of YouTube video you can imagine! You just need to look for it.

5. WATCH FILM TUTORIALS

If you feel as though you're losing motivation with your YouTube videos, if could be that not much is changing with your channel. Every video is sort of the same, and the viewership isn't increasing by much.
If only there was a quick and free way to improve your ability as an actor, filmmaker, or video editor... and if only the information were on some sort of video sharing site that you could search through...
Alright, you all know what I'm hinting at. But the point can't be overstated: YouTube is one of the best educational tools ever invented. Use it to motivate your future videos!
If there is something you don't know how to do with your video editing, you can search for the answer. If you want to become a better YouTuber, there are dozens of channels out there dedicated to exactly that.
For example, I edit with Final Cut Pro. I've benefited from watching videos by Ripple Training called "Final Cut Pro X In Under 5 Minutes". This series gives me quick and practical ways to improve my skills as a video editor, and to motivate me as a YouTuber.
Start searching on YouTube for the questions you have - you never know what answers might pop up!
How to make youtube (google search)

6. TRY SOMETHING NEW AND DARING

As much as I recommend looking outward for motivation (by joining communities or learning from tutorials) sometimes it's best just to look inward.
Ask yourself: what's a video I've thought of making, but that scares me a little?
Maybe it scares you because you're trying something radically different. You could be inviting a guest on your show for an interview, or doing a 10 minute video with no edits, or singing on camera for the first time.
We all have our vulnerabilities and our weak points. But if there's something you've always dreamed of trying out, why not give it a go.
After all, isn't that what YouTube is for?

7. STEP BACK FROM YOUTUBE VIDEOS TO WORK ON YOUR CHANNEL

The heart and soul of my YouTube channel is my weekly vlog, The Monday Morning Travel Vlog. Like any daily or weekly or monthly content you produce, my vlog has improved significantly through simple repetition.
But when I look back at my earliest weeks of the vlog, I didn't really know what I was doing. The titles aren't optimized for search and the thumbnails aren't engaging.
youtube thumbnail branding
So I recently went through the process of updating my vlog's thumbnails, all the way back to week 1. It's a simple step to improve the branding of any channel. When I look back and see the ugly thumbnails disappearing, to be replaced by well-designed, consistent images, it leaves me inspired. I think it will have the same affect on you.
If you're feeling burnt out with new videos, take a step back and focus on your YouTube branding strategy.

8. I WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO VLOG

Watch my Vlogging Tips playlist on The New Travel.
When you start a vlog, you don't yet have a community. You have one person talking to a camera and hoping that somebody watches. To grow a community for your YouTube channel, it takes a lot of work and a lot of quality content.
Along my own journey as a YouTube vlogger, I've picked up a lot of tips and learned a lot of lessons. With this Vlogging Tips series I offer my best advice regarding storytelling, marketing, community-building and vlogging mechanics.

I hope this list has helped you stay motivated as a Youtuber. Do you have your own secrets for keeping the motivation while you are making YouTube videos?
I'd be glad to hear from you down in the comments!
Dan Vineberg YouTube vlogger
I'm Dan, and you can find me on YouTube at The New Travel. The New Travel has a weekly travel vlog, as well as a leading source of travel tips and inspiration.

Need an extra punch of motivation to get you started? Maybe one of my videos will be just what you need.
